Step 1 Home Study - Choose One
 
Option 1 - eLearning Student- Click on the Get Started button on our website , enroll in the PADI eLearning Open Water Course, Complete the online course before the first night of class. Here you will complete all the home study, academics, quizzes and final exam. Students need to pick up their eLearning student kit at the store or from our website.
 
Option 2 - Classroom Student -  Click on the related links below and purchase the PADI Open Water Crewpack and DVD.  Watch the DVD, read the PADI Open Water Manual, and complete the Knowledge Review questions before class one. Every student must have their own crewpack. DVD's can be shared.
 
Step 2 Class and Pool Sessions
 
eLearner Students - Attend Orientation session on the first Sunday at 3pm at MASS Diving and complete three pool sessions. Course schedule is Friday, Sunday, and the following Sunday. See below for start dates.
 
Wayland Community Pool Schedule: 
September to end of May
Friday night go directly to the pool at 7:45pm to 10:30pm
First Sunday 3pm orientation at MASS Diving then go to pool 4:45pm to 9pm
Second Sunday go directly to pool 4:45pm to 9pm

June, July, and August
Friday night go directly to the pool at 6pm to 8:30pm
First Sunday 3pm orientation at MASS Diving then go to pool 4:45pm to 9pm
Second Sunday go directly to pool 4:45pm to 9pm
 
Classroom Students - Register for your classroom and pool sessions here. Below are the start dates.
Course Schedule is Friday, Sunday, and the following Sunday.
 
Classroom and Wayland Community Pool Schedule: 
September to end of May
Friday, Classroom MASS Diving 6:30pm to 7:30pm, Pool 7:45pm to 10:30pm,
Sunday's Classroom Sessions 1pm to 4:30pm, Pool 4:45pm to 9pm
June, July, and August
Fridays Pool 6pm to 8:30pm, Sundays Classroom 1pm to 4:30pm, Pool 4:45pm to 9pm
Note on Fridays in the summer go directly to the pool. Sundays classes start at MASS Diving.

Step 3 Open Water Training Dives
 
Students must complete four open water training dives to receive their PADI Open Water certification. Students have the choice of completing the dives in New England with us in the months of May to November or take a referral and complete their training on their warm water vacation. Students are welcome to join us on our group dive vacations to complete their ocean dives.  Note Step 3 does not have to be decided at the time of registration. See below in the related products section for local ocean dive information. Once you complete step 2 pool sessions you have one year to complete your ocean training dives.
 
Other Course Information
 
Pool Equipment: The class and pool fees include use of all scuba equipment except for mask, snorkel, fins, boots, and gloves (gloves only needed for local training dives). MASS Diving will provide tanks, regulators, buoyancy compensators, weight belts, and exposure suits. If students already own their equipment, we encourage them to use their own equipment in the pool. Students will receive a 10% discount on their mask, snorkel, fins, boots and gloves.
 
Ocean Equipment: Students have the option of purchasing their equipment from us or renting their equipment for the four open water dives. Students can rent all their equipment except for mask, snorkel, fins, boots, and gloves . Students will receive a 15% discount off our rental rate. Full set of rental equipment for the weekend is $93.50 plus tax. (Regular rate is $110.00)
 
Ask us about our special pricing for students on our Regulator, Octopus, Computer, Buoyancy Compensator and Wetsuit Packages. Learn in your own equipment and save on the rental fee!
 
Pre-Registration required at MASS Diving or online: Students must sign-up early enough to allow for the home study requirements to be completed before the first night of class. Students are required to fill out their student record folder during registration. If a student answers yes to any medical question, they must get approval from their doctor before they can begin our program. Doctors must fill out the PADI Medical Form.
 
Registration:  Students can register over the phone at (508) 651-0698, online, or stop by our facility. Students who pick up their materials will receive instruction on how to study for the course and how to properly fit mask, snorkel, fins, boots, and gloves. If you register online, please contact our facility upon receipt of the materials so we can go over the home study program with you.
 
What to bring: For each class session students should bring their PADI materials kit, completed knowledge reviews, bathing suit, towel, notebook, pen, mask, snorkel, fins, wet suit boots, and gloves (if diving in NE). 
 
Prerequisites: Minimum 10 years old, must be comfortable in the water, must be able to swim 8 lengths of the pool (or swim 12 lengths of the pool with mask, snorkel, and fins), tread water for 10 minutes, and be in good medical condition.
