SCUBA
BSA PROGRAM

Welcome to our
SCUBA BSA Award Program. This program consists of two parts - Knowledge
Development and Water Skills Development. In the first part participants learn
basic dive safety information and an overview of the skills to be used during
their water experience. The Water Skills Development session introduces
essential dive skills, such as mask clearing, regulator clearing, and alternate
air source use. This is not a diver certification course. Participants will
earn their SCUBA BSA Award.
Course
Prerequisites:
Age 12 years or older, Turn in a completed health history form and a completed
liability waiver form with their parent's signature.
Note: Participants may have to get a physician's approval before
enrolling in this course.

Equipment Overview - Mask, snorkel, Fins, boots, exposure suits, regulators,
dive computers, tanks, BCD and snorkel vests, weight belts.
Air Spaces and Equalizing Techniques - mask, ears, lungs, and sinuses
Communication - use of hand signals
Buoyancy Control
Important Diving Rules and Safety Procedures
Pressure/Volume/Density Relationships
Effects of Nitrogen
Confined Water Overview
Confined Water Session
1. BSA Swim Test - Jump feet first into water overhead in
depth. Swim 75 yards in a strong manner using one or more of the following
strokes: side stroke, breaststroke, trudgen, or crawl; then swim 25 yards
using an easy resting stroke. The 100 yards must be swum continuously and
include at least one sharp turn. After completing the test, rest by floating.

Equipment Provided
All Scuba equipment is supplied - mask, snorkel, fins, tank, regulator,
BCD, wetsuit, and weight belts. Students may bring their own mask,
snorkel, and fins to class.
If students purchase their masks,
snorkels, and fins before the program they will receive an equipment discount of
10% OFF.
Student Must Provide

Snorkeling

Welcome to our Snorkel BSA Program. This program consists of two parts
- Knowledge Development and Water Skills Development. In the first part
participants learn basic snorkeling safety information and overview the skills
to be used during their water experience. The Water Skills Development
session introduces essential snorkeling skills, such as snorkel clearing, proper
fin techniques, and surface dives. This is not a certification course.
Participants will earn their Snorkeling BSA Award
Course Prerequisites: Age 12 years or older,
complete a health history form, and a completed liability waiver form with
their parent's signature.
Note: Participants may have to get a physician's approval
before you are enrolled in this course.
